The Ethiopian was reading from the prophet Isaiah as he rode along in his chariot. He told Philip that he could use someone to help him understand. With that, Philip joined him in his chariot and beginning with this passage he began to explain that Isaiah long ago spoke about Jesus. From that moment the Ethiopian’s life began to go down a new road. He would go back to his home; but he would go back a much happier man because he believed and obeyed the gospel, Acts 8:26-40.<br/><br/> Consider your own life’s journey as you read the account above. You can read and hear the same message about Jesus today. The gospel is the same for all. The result from hearing, believing and obeying this good news is also the same: “When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.” Acts 8:39
